do not disturb

Being holed-up at home recovering from surgery does have its minor advantages:  you can hang the “do not disturb” sign on your door with impunity.  A few weeks ago on my way to Provincetown I overnighted at Boston’s Liberty Hotel.  In addition to a farm-to-table restaurant called Clink and an outdoor  patio bar dubbed The Yard, the former Charles Street Jail has the most clever doorknob dissuaders, one of which has curiously made its way to my front door.

How could I have forgotten to include an image of the Liberty Hotel yesterday?  The central lobby is one of the coolest places in Boston.  I’m particularly fond of the cleverly named Clink – a seasonal, sustainable Modern American restaurant, where original jail cells create cozy dining nooks – and Alibi – a cocktail bar set in the old drunk tank.  Click the image for greater detail.
