Virginia’s Chesapeake Region is Awash in History

alg_chesapeakeThe mid-Atlantic coast might sound, well, middling, but don’t let the name fool you. Dominated by the massive Chesapeake Bay — the largest estuary in the United States — the region is a veritable playground for water (and seafood) lovers and a paradise for taking in the myriad nature it breeds.

To mix things up a bit, there’s also a wealth of living history on parade from the historic triangle of Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown, to the picturesque harbor and brick-paved streets of Annapolis. And when you feel the need to pick up the pace, a couple of vibrant cities will keep you entertained well into the wee hours.
